Sur de Chile - Torres del Paine / Puerto Natales
The Torres del Paine National Park was created in 1959. It has an area of 181,414 hectares. It is located between 51° and 10' south latitude and 72° and 57' west longitude. Its height varies from 50 to 3050 metres above sea level. This park is ideal for tourists who enjoy trekking, ecotourism and adventure sports, as it has trails that vary in difficulty, as well as stunning views, thanks to its lakes, glaciers and mountains. Its biggest attraction is the Paine massif, with its representative peaks called Cuernos (Horns) and Torre (Tower), both forming three peaks. It offers various accommodation categories, such as hostels, inns, lodges and resorts that mostly provide all sorts of excursions within the park. Puerto Natales, located 145 km south of the park entrance, is the starting point of the excursion and has hotels and transportation to and from connecting destinations such as Calafate, Ushuaia, Punta Arenas and then Ushuaia by land transportation or Mare & Via Australis cruise.
